Suzanne’s journey with Samoyeds began in 1989 when she was introduced to the breed by her husband, David, who at the time had two Arctic breeds: a Malamute and a Samoyed. Suzanne’s connection to the Samoyed blossomed with her first rescue, Tasha, an intelligent and loving dog who forever shaped her appreciation for the breed.
In 1993, Suzanne and David visited Shebaska Samoyeds, where they met Kyser, a charming Samoyed who immediately captured their hearts. This moment marked the beginning of their passion for the breed, as Kyser became the foundation of their journey into breeding and showing Samoyeds. Suzanne’s dedication grew with mentorship from esteemed breeders, including Shebaska and Bobmardon Samoyeds, and through her active involvement in dog shows and the Samoyed community.
Over the years, we have worked to deepen our understanding of the Samoyed’s unique qualities. These beautiful dogs are known for their expressive communication, warm smiles, and versatile roles as companions, sled dogs, therapy animals, and show dogs. Their intelligence, resilience, and affectionate nature make them truly one of a kind.
At Kyser Bearr Samoyeds, we take a small-scale, purposeful approach to breeding. Every litter is planned with love and care, and all breeding stock is cleared through OFA and CERF to ensure the health and well-being of our puppies. Each puppy is raised in our home, receiving the individualized attention and preparation they need to become well-adjusted, happy members of their new families. Just as we carefully evaluate our puppies, we also thoughtfully consider each prospective family to ensure the perfect match.
As breeders, our commitment doesn’t end when a puppy leaves our home. We view our dogs and their families as an extension of our own and remain a resource for support throughout their lives. Should circumstances ever change, we welcome every Kyser Bearr Samoyed back home with open arms.
Our mission extends beyond breeding to education and community involvement. We are passionate about helping others understand and appreciate the Samoyed breed. Positive reinforcement, patience, and consistency are key to raising a happy, well-behaved Samoyed.
