Congratulations on welcoming your new Kyser Bearr Samoyed into your family! We’ve done our best to provide your puppy with a loving and safe environment to prepare them for this exciting new journey.

As you bring your new family member home, please remember that they are still a baby and will need time, patience, and care to adjust to their new surroundings. The transition from their mother and familiar environment to a new home can be stressful, so it’s important to give them extra love and understanding during this time. And if you ever need assistance, we are just a call away!

Bringing Your Samoyed Puppy Home

We recommend taking your puppy home on your lap to provide them with comfort and reassurance during what can be a stressful transition. This physical closeness helps soothe your puppy as they adjust to being away from their littermates and familiar surroundings. If traveling on your lap isn’t an option, we suggest bringing a secure and cozy crate to ensure their safety during the journey.

Your Samoyed Puppy Feeding Schedule

Your puppy is accustomed to the following schedule:

Morning (5:00AM–6:30 AM)

Outside for bathroom time, followed by food, fresh water, and playtime.

Late Morning (10:30AM–11:30 AM)

Second meal and playtime.

Afternoon (4:00PM–5:00 PM)

Third meal.

Evening (8:00 PM)

Final meal of the day.

Over time, you can gradually introduce your own schedule. As your puppy grows:

After 12 weeks: Transition to 3 meals a day.

After 20 weeks: Transition to 2 meals a day for the rest of their life.

Feeding Tips:

Samoyeds are not big eaters. Offer no more than 1 cup of food at a time, softened with a little water.

Research bloat in dogs to understand the risks and prevention methods for this breed.

House Training Your Samoyed Puppy

Puppies have small bladders and can only hold their bowels for short periods. Take your puppy outside every hour to prevent accidents. If they do have an accident indoors, avoid scolding them. Instead, focus on better timing and observing their cues.

When your puppy successfully goes outside, always remember to praise and reward them! Positive reinforcement is key.

Grooming and Training Your Samoyed Puppy

Brushing is essential for the Samoyed breed.

Brush your puppy daily, following the way their fur falls and reaching down to the skin.

Regular brushing will help you and your puppy bond and teach them that grooming is a normal part of life for a double-coated breed.

Training is essential for your Samoyed.

Positive reinforcement works best with Samoyeds—never a heavy hand.

Samoyeds are working Arctic dogs, not retrievers, so don’t expect instant results. Be patient!

Keep training sessions short and fun—5 minutes a day is enough. Repetition and praise are the keys to success.

Always ask yourself: "What’s in it for the Sammie?" They thrive on motivation and rewards.
